Social & Fundraising

St. Paul's is such a large, diverse, active parish that it is hard to describe our social and fundraising activities in just a few paragraphs, if you asked ten members to describe who we are and what we do, you would get fifteen different answers!  Our Social and fundraising events continue to expand due to popularity. We hope that one or all of the events will interest you and we will see you there!

Chicken Barbeque

St. Paul's 32nd Annual Chicken Barbeque, Last held on Friday, June 3, 2011

The sun was out, the coals were hot, and Fr. John administered pastoral care to the BBQers. Close to 800 half chickens and 10 men were smoked and roasted. St. Paul's Anglican Church has been providing this dinner (chicken, not men) for 32 years.

The meal included a generous, plump, juicy half-chicken slowly cooked over an open charcoal fire. Along with the chicken, a salad, roll with butter and a slice of pie or other desert was served. Many of the parishioners of St. Paul's volunteered to help with this annual event and found it to be a time of fun and fellowship both for themselves and for those who came to enjoy this meal either on site or as a take-out. This year 82 dinners were delivered to residences in the Kanata area. The barbecue took place on Friday, June 3, 2011, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church building located at 20 Young Road.

The Ticket Chairperson was busy organizing the ticket sales team and the team soon sold all the tickets. Anyone who wishes to assist with the ticket sales next year should contact Mathias at the Church office (613) 836-1001. A list of those persons having tickets for sale was be posted on the Church Bulletin Board. Tickets were being sold beginning May 15, 2011. If you have any questions give Mathias a call. Next year bring your friends and neighbours; let’s have a time of fun and fellowship.

Remember the next barbeque will be on Friday June 8, 2012, so plan to attend - as the people of St. Paul's say, "See you at church" and "Bon Appetit"!
